Multi-Color 3D Printing

We print parts in several colors at once, straight off the printer, no painting. It's how we make full-color logo keychains, signs, color-matched parts and models with labels or markings built into the plastic.

How it works

Our printers use automatic material systems that swap between spools during the print. Each color change is planned in the slicer, so a logo, text or stripe ends up exactly where it belongs. Jobs with five or six colors are routine for us.

Good uses

  • Logo keychains and swag that people actually keep.
  • Signs and labels with raised or inlaid colored text.
  • Color-coded parts for shops and fixtures, so the right part goes in the right place.
  • Models and display pieces that look finished without paint.

What affects the price

Every color change takes time and purges a little plastic, so more colors and more color changes per layer cost more. Two-color designs are the least expensive. Flat colors stacked in layers, like a logo on top of a base, print far faster than colors that change on every layer.

Getting color right

  • Send a 3MF with colors assigned, or a logo file (PNG, SVG or PDF).
  • We match your brand colors to the closest filament we stock. Exact matches are usually within a shade.
  • Fine detail under about 0.8 mm wide may blend. We'll tell you if a design needs simplifying.
