What sets the price

Print time. The biggest factor. A part that takes 3 hours costs more than one that takes 30 minutes, even if they weigh the same.
Material weight. Measured in grams. Most small parts use 10 to 100 grams of plastic.
Material type. PLA is the least expensive. PETG, TPU and ASA cost a little more because the plastic costs more and prints slower. See 3D printing materials.
Colors. Each extra color adds filament swaps and time.
Quantity. The order page discounts larger quantities automatically.
Design work. If you don't have a 3D file, we model it for you. Design time is quoted up front, before anything prints.

When we are the better deal, and when we are not

We are usually the lowest price for one-off parts and small runs, because there is no marketplace fee and no minimum order. For large runs of a simple part, an overseas factory or injection molding can cost less per piece once you are into the hundreds or thousands.
